Our Story
It started in Denver in 1948, when Wayne Harding founded Harding Glass Industries — a commercial and residential glass and glazing company serving the Midwest. His work with metals and fabrication opened an unexpected door.
That connection led Wayne to Robert Lichti, inventor of the Vert-A-Park — a revolutionary “”Ferris-wheel”” parking system — and later to Ed Greer, inventor of the DuoPark, and Herbst Brothers, designers of the Park Master. Through these partnerships, Harding helped give birth to the mechanical parking lift industry in America.
Those early systems weren’t just innovative — they lasted. DuoPark lifts installed decades ago are still operating in parking lots, private homes, and commercial buildings across the U.S. and around the world.
In 2024, Harding Steel rebranded as Harding Autopark Systems, reflecting our singular focus: delivering the most advanced, reliable automated parking systems available in the U.S. market.
What We Do

Our commercial systems are installed throughout the U.S. and Canada for some of the country’s largest developers and construction firms. Parking operators in major cities and airports rely on our lifts daily. And our residential systems are found in some of the most distinctive luxury homes in America.
