Combilift 543 & 543MR — Three-Level Puzzle Parking
The WÖHR Combilift 543 is the highest-density system in the Combilift family. Each grid carries three levels — an upper level, an entrance level, and a lower level in the pit — with independent access to every space. One space in the entrance row stays empty; entrance-level platforms shift sideways into it, and upper or lower platforms then raise or lower into position for the driver.
The 543MR is the drive-through variant. Where the 543 is used as a single-row system or as the last row of a multi-row installation, the 543MR occupies the front rows and allows vehicles to pass through the vacant space into the row behind. It combines with the Combilift 543, 542, and 552 in rear positions, supporting arrangements two, three, and four rows deep.
Manufactured in Germany by WÖHR, the 543 is engineered for reliability and long-term performance in residential buildings, office buildings, business premises, and hotels.
Harding Autopark Systems specifies the 543 and 543MR where a project needs maximum stall count from a constrained footprint. A single row of 543 supports up to 10 grids and 29 parking places; multi-row 543MR arrangements deliver comparable density across a deeper bay while requiring only one drive aisle. Because the MR pit is 6″ deeper than a standard pit, the same vehicle heights can be accommodated on the lower level in every row.

Installation Requirements
- Pit required. A straight pit is recommended — it simplifies concrete work and dimensional compliance — though a stepped pit is available at no additional Combilift cost
- Bottom slab minimum 7″ thick; front drive-in wall and rear wall to be concrete, minimum 7″ thick, perfectly flat and free of protruding elements
- Concrete quality of at least C20/25 required for dowel fastening
- System frames fixed to the slab with base plates of approximately 54 in² and to walls with plates of approximately 4.65 in², using adhesive anchor bolts at 4-3/4″–5-1/2″ hole depth
- Structural bay (space required) of 9’2-1/4″ to 10’10” depending on the clear platform width selected
- Channels, undercuts, and concrete haunches are not permitted along the pit floor-to-wall joints; where they are unavoidable, system width must be reduced or pit width increased
- Automatic sliding doors required. Doors are electro-mechanically interlocked and can only open once the selected parking place has reached the entry/exit position
- Clear passage height of at least 6’6-3/4″ recommended where two or more systems are placed in a row
- Drainage channel along the pit center connecting to a floor drain or a 20″ × 20″ × 8″ drainage pit; oil-resistant pit floor coating recommended

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does retrieval take, and what about the morning rush?
A typical retrieval depends on the position of the vehicle. Cars at ground level only need the gate to open for access. Only one platform position is empty per level, so the system shifts cars sideways to open a path. For busy buildings we plan the layout and number of units around your peak demand.
Can it handle EVs, and is charging available?
Yes. Combilifts fit the EVs that fit a standard stall, and EV charging on the platforms is available.
How many spaces can I gain?
Most projects roughly double or triple the parking in the same footprint, and the systems fit within a standard 18′ stall depth. We’ll run a layout for your site to show the exact count.
