The WÖHR Combilift 551 is a two-level puzzle parking system that requires no pit and is engineered for multi-row, drive-through arrangements. Platforms at entrance level shift sideways to open a vacant space; the upper level then lowers into that space for driver access — or, in a drive-through arrangement, the vacant space becomes the travel path into the row behind.
The 552MR is the drive-through variant used in the front rows. It combines with the Combilift 551, 542, and 543 in rear positions, allowing a designer to mix two-level and three-level systems within one garage to suit varying floor-to-floor heights and pit conditions.
Manufactured in Germany by WÖHR, the 551 offers the longest single-row runs in the Combilift family — up to 15 grids in a single row — making it well suited to long, narrow bays and podium garages.
Harding Autopark Systems specifies the 551 and 552MR for projects that need depth as well as length: multi-row arrangements serve two, three, or four rows of parking from a single drive aisle, recovering the aisle area that a conventional layout would consume.
Manufactured in Germany by WÖHR, the 551 is the answer for sites where a pit is impractical or expensive — retrofits into existing garages, above-grade parking decks, slab-on-grade construction, high water table conditions, or projects where excavation cost or schedule risk rules out a pit-based system.
Harding Autopark Systems specifies the 551 where a project needs to double parking capacity within an existing structural envelope. Because there is no pit, the structural scope is limited to a level slab and sound anchoring walls, which makes the 551 one of the fastest Combilift systems to integrate into an existing building.
Compared to conventional single-level parking, the 551 stacks vehicles vertically within the same floor area — recovering stalls without adding a ramp, a level, or attendant staffing.
Spec Sheet DownloadHow long does retrieval take, and what about the morning rush?
A typical retrieval depends on the position of the vehicle. Cars at ground level only need the gate to open for access. Only one platform position is empty per level, so the system shifts cars sideways to open a path. For busy buildings we plan the layout and number of units around your peak demand.
Can it handle EVs, and is charging available?
Yes. Combilifts fit the EVs that fit a standard stall, and EV charging on the platforms is available.
How many spaces can I gain?
Most projects roughly double or triple the parking in the same footprint, and the systems fit within a standard 18′ stall depth. We’ll run a layout for your site to show the exact count.
